Chase: Labrador retriever/Hound
9 months, Male

Good with dogs, cats and children. Housetrained.
HW-

Chase was found wandering at a convenience store and limping badly on his right hind leg. Since the local shelter was closed, we were contacted to take him as a medical rescue. X-rays revealed an old break in his femur that had healed poorly, leaving that leg about 3 inches shorter than the other. X-rays also revealed a broken pelvis that had healed. The good thing was that his other hind leg and hip were perfect, with no deficits. Two local vets were consulted who said they did not believe anything could be done, but just to be safe, we did ask for referral to an ortho specialist who examined Chase and did additional x-rays. The specialist agreed that nothing could be done at this point to lengthen the leg; the break was too complicated and had healed in such a way that trying to rebreak it, bone graft etc. just was not something they felt would be successful. We were advised to just let Chase be a dog who was so young when all this happened that he does not even realize he has a problem and he is not in pain.
Chase has the sweetest and most loving temperament. He loves every dog he meets and lives for love from his humans. He is housebroken and well-behaved when left alone in his foster's house without a crate. Chase will make the most amazing companion for someone and would even be a good candidate for a therapy dog. Please fill out an application today for this amazing boy!

Colton: Labrador Retriever
8 years 0 months, Male

Handsome Colton takes a bit to warm up but does fine when introduced properly. He takes a while to trust and needs you to understand that he requires your patience and gift of time to show you his true, beautiful colors - eventually he will show you the affectionate, loyal, protective fella that he truly is. He loves to play with other dogs and does great with cats. Colton is house-trained and walks well on a leash. He hasn’t been crated, and he probably wouldn’t appreciate that.

Have you ever found a treasure you really wanted, but were told you couldn’t have it, or had to put it back? Well, gloves and napkins and such are Colton’s treasures and he’s not a fan of giving them back (finders keepers after all!) He’s been receiving training and will now respond to “Leave it”, as long as there’s a yummy treat being offered.

Colton is a treasure of his own kind - a diamond in the rough. A family with older children (or none) who are willing to give Colton the time he needs to adjust, and the continued training, will be rewarded for their work with a loveable, cuddly, guy - that’s our Colton!

Ellie Mae Pepper: Chihuahua Mix
10 years 3 months, Female

Good with dogs and cats, children unknown. House-trained.
HW-

Ellie is eleven pounds of loveable chihuahua who came to us as an owner surrender with some health issues. She has now undergone a hernia repair and is recovering beautifully! Ellie is affectionate, obedient, friendly and really likes to ride in the car! She is a quiet, mellow girl who likes to go outside. Ellie also has some dental issues so her future family should be willing to soak her kibble a bit and maybe add some wet food with gravy and she will be a happy girl! Aside from recovery from all her health issues, she seems much younger than her age. She walks well on a leash, greets others happily and is actually fun to walk with. One of Ellie's most endearing qualities is that she will stand up on her hind legs and reach up with her front legs to be picked up and basically hugs on to you like a child being carried. Who wouldn't want this give this amazing girl a loving home for the rest of her life?

Faith Forever: Boxer/Staffordshire Bull Terrier
2 years 3 months, Female

Good with dogs and children, cats unknown. House-trained.
HW-

Faith is a shy girl who has had a rough life until now. She came into the shelter very underweight and she had recently been bred. When she was spayed, she had to have two nipples removed due to fluid filled cysts, probably as a result of mastitis in the past. Faith is so very grateful and she is easy to get along with and eager to please. She is calm and not one to get things stirred up or place herself in the middle of a lot of excitement. She has learned quickly in her foster home, which is probably the first real home she's ever had. Faith has come to love her new creature comforts and is searching for a forever home where someone will continue to show her the same love and comfort!

Good with dogs and cats, children unknown. Housetrained.
HW-

Herman was surrendered to us by a landlord who found him abandoned by a tenant. He is a cute little guy who is still trying to figure out what in the world happened to him. He likes other dogs, but like most small dogs, can be jealous sometimes of sharing his person. He is easily corrected. He is good with cats but we haven't yet had him around kids. Herman would also love an owner who will responsibly keep him on a leash when outside, as he finds moving cars oh so intriguing! Layla Bell: Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua Mix
7 years 7 months, Female

Layla Belle is a loving little lady who was given up mid-life by her owner. She is housebroken, cat- and dog-friendly, and doesn’t need a bunch of toys to keep her happy - she’s an easy dog to love and care for. She’s a little nervous with new people, at first - she may need a day or two to feel at ease in her new home, but who wouldn’t? Layla Belle is such a sweet pea and ready to be welcomed into someone’s loving arms. She’s the perfect size for that!

Micky: Fox Terrier
1 year 7 months, Male

Good with dogs and older children. Cats unknown. House-trained. Crate trained.
HW-

Micky and his sister, Mallory, were dumped in a front yard and left to be picked up and brought to a shelter, where they were scheduled for euthanasia because they were both so fearful and considered unadoptable. Micky has gained some confidence in the past six months with us, but is still very cautious in new situations. He would love a home with another dog as it gives him both comfort and confidence. He walks well on a leash and is very sweet with his humans once he trusts.

Mini Molly: Chiweenie
1 year 0 months, Female

Good with dogs, cats and children unknown. Housetrained.
HW-

Mini Molly came to us because she was found abandoned at a rental home when workers went there for repairs. It is estimated she was on her own for about three weeks. Neighbors said that they would put food on the steps for her. Molly is a typical little chiweenie. She is a little scared and confused right now after having her life turned upside down but she is learning quickly that she is safe in her foster home. She is playing with other small dogs in the home and likes to snuggle. Please fill out an application today for this wonderful little girl!

Murph Coweta: Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Hound
9 months, Male

Good with dogs, cats and children. Housetrained.
HW-

Murph basically grew up at the shelter. He came in as 5 month old puppy and remained there for months. The staff spent a lot of time with him, playing with him, teaching him commands and how to walk on a leash and other manners. He absolutely loves other dogs. Murph is shy and takes a little bit to warm up to new people but once he trusts you, he is absolutely your new best friend. Murph has never exhibited aggression of any kind to other dogs or people, even when he is afraid and he is very submissive dog. He has benefited so much from being in a loving, structured environment and would love to keep that trend going! Please fill out an application today for this sweet, deserving boy!

Newt AKA Moonshine: Hound mix/Hound
3 years 10 months, Male

Handsome Moonshine is a hound mix - without the hound barking! Moon is at first cautious around new people and needs introductions. Once he trusts you, he turns into the most loving dog! His foster family has been helping himfeel easier around people and other dogs. They have dogs and Moon has started to relax around them - they enjoyed a good game of tug together just the other day. It may be hard on Moon to live with a dominant-type dog, but easy-going, respectful dogs would be okay for this shy guy.

He is house-trained and amazing on a leash. He loves having a job to do and going on walks - then he likes to get home and be the world’s biggest couch potato. And if you happen to offer a belly rub, oh this boy will be in heaven!

Moonshine is a work in progress and so worth it. He is a gem and deserves a family who can be patient with him and appreciate that perhaps some of his past experiences with people were not great. Because he will need time to blossom, a home without small children is best for our guy. This sweet boy will be loyal to you and love you hard. Moon has been working with a trainer and doing great - we recommend you continue with that. Moonshine is waiting for his forever home!

Penni is a little over 2 years old and is a medium sized, quiet girl who plays well with others. She crates well, walks on a leash, is housebroken, gets along well with other dogs, and is beginning to really love people. Penni needs an adopter who is willing to continue her journey to build confidence!

Reece Pepper: Chihuahua Mix
15 years 3 months, Male

Good with dogs and cats. Prefers a home with no children due to his age.
HW-

Reece is a lovable little 5 pound 15 yo little guy. He wants a lap to snuggle up to. He runs like the wind and has no problem jumping up on my bed, and he is learning how to use doggie stairs. He is not a fan of cold weather but is doing well on the pee pads. Due to dental disease, his bottom jaw is missing, but that does not stop him from trying to eat anything. His beautiful brindle coat is very rare and he is so very loving. Their has to be a lap out there that would appreciate his unique personality!

Spooky Benjamin: Maltese
7 years 0 months, Male

Hi my name is Spooky Benjamin and I’m a special guy! Apparently I am allergic to most things outside so I need special injections every few months for the rest of my life life. Because I’m fluffy and have allergies I also need regular grooming and medicated baths once or twice a week. Oh and I also have chronic ear infections.

Despite my medical needs, I’m a pretty awesome guy! My foster mama said this about me: “He loves to snuggle and sleep in, and while still young he likes to take his time getting around. He loves everyone, and will dance for treats. The rewards of taking care of him are endless though. He loves unconditionally, and just wants someone to always care for him.”

If you think you could be my special person, apply today!!

Terrific Tiny: Jack Russell Terrier

Good with dogs and cats, children unknown . Housetrained.
HW-

Terrific Tiny is totally terrific! He gets along well his foster family's gang of pets, rides well in car, is terrific on leash, and is house-trained! Seriously, this guy is precious. He loves to sit in laps and watch tv with you (or simply look at YOU adoringly, while you watch TV). He crates like a charm and only barks when you come home after work because he wants to go out and take care of business. He's food motivated - great for training, but NOT food aggressive. He has gone nose to nose with a cat and seemed undisturbed. Please fill out an application for Tiny today, because a guy this awesome won't last long!

She is a lot of fun and willing to try anything or go anywhere just to be with her person. Tiffany is active and energetic and would love a family who is the same! Zinger: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie/Australian Terrier
7 years 0 months, Male

Good with dogs and cats, children unknown. Housetrained
HW-

Zinger and his brother Zippy were surrendered to us when their owner was hospitalized with dementia and unable home. For some reason, Zinger was living outside and in desperate need of grooming and clipping; he had to be shaved down. However, his ears and teeth were in good shape and, while he is underweight, he otherwise is healthy. He doesn't seem to know how wonderful it is to be truly loved the way most little dogs are loved, but he will snuggle next to you on the couch and seek attention in a tentative way. This little guy would blossom with lots of love and handling. He is not a small yorkie at about 12 lbs and we suspect may be mixed with Australian terrier, which looks very similar to a Yorkie, but is bigger. Please fill out an application for this handsome little guy today!
