Brandi Dublin: Labrador retriever
21 weeks, Female

Good with dogs. No kitties please. Children unknown. Housetrained.
HW-

Brandi Dublin was found abandoned with her brother Petey in a rural Georgia county that has no animal control agency. Her rescuer took them both home and asked The Pixel Fund if we could help find them homes. They are both great older puppies with good, kind temperaments. Brandi does well on a leash, is crate trained and doing well with housebreaking. She is a little too curious about the cats, so would likely prefer a kitty-free home. She loves to cuddle and be with her person and is such a friendly girl. She plays well with other dogs of all sizes!

Chip Macon: Terrier
6 months, Male

Good with dogs, cats and children unknown. Working on house training.
HW-

Chip and Snowball were surrendered to the shelter, along with other dogs, when it was determined that the owner was unable to care for them all. They are most likely siblings, but we were unable to get that confirmed. They are used to living in a multi dog household and do well with other dogs. Chip is a typical, active older puppy who loves to chew, play and needs training and guidance to learn manners and become an awesome pet! if you have the time, energy and patience all puppies require, please fill out an application for Chip today!

Colton: Labrador Retriever
8 years 3 months, Male

Handsome Colton takes a bit to warm up but does fine when introduced properly. He takes a while to trust and needs you to understand that he requires your patience and gift of time to show you his true, beautiful colors - eventually he will show you the affectionate, loyal, protective fella that he truly is. He loves to play with other dogs and does great with cats. Colton is house-trained and walks well on a leash. He hasn’t been crated, and he probably wouldn’t appreciate that.

Have you ever found a treasure you really wanted, but were told you couldn’t have it, or had to put it back? Well, gloves and napkins and such are Colton’s treasures and he’s not a fan of giving them back (finders keepers after all!) He’s been receiving training and will now respond to “Leave it”, as long as there’s a yummy treat being offered.

Colton is a treasure of his own kind - a diamond in the rough. A family with older children (or none) who are willing to give Colton the time he needs to adjust, and the continued training, will be rewarded for their work with a loveable, cuddly, guy - that’s our Colton!

John Alligood: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
1 year 2 months, Male

Good with dogs and children, cats unknown. Housetrained.
HW-

John was seen wandering a Georgia neighborhood for at least four weeks before he was hit by a car and taken to animal control. He was full of worms and had skin and muscle lacerations on his hind leg, as well as road rash on his belly and front legs. John was underweight but thankfully negative on heartworms. He is a young, sweet dog who still has a lot of puppy in him, but is so very grateful to be saved! He is loving, very willing to please and could do almost anything with the appropriate training, including becoming an emotional support dog. Please fill out an application today!

Layla Bell: Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua Mix
7 years 11 months, Female

Layla Belle is a loving little lady who was given up mid-life by her owner. She is housebroken, cat- and dog-friendly, and doesn’t need a bunch of toys to keep her happy - she’s an easy dog to love and care for. She’s a little nervous with new people, at first - she may need a day or two to feel at ease in her new home, but who wouldn’t? Layla Belle is such a sweet pea and ready to be welcomed into someone’s loving arms. She’s the perfect size for that!

Lucie: Shepherd/Labrador retriever
3 years 3 months, Female

Good with dogs. No kitties please. Children unknown. Housetrained.
HW-

Lucie was owner surrendered to us by a man who had owned her since she was 7 weeks old. He saw both parents so knew her breeding. Lucie was his constant companion after his divorce, until a year ago when he had to sell his home and move into rental. The landlord decided he did not want pets in his home and Lucie had to go. For the last yea, she was been passed around while her owner tried to hold onto her. The first family member was caught chaining her up outside and her owner took her back and then she stayed with a friend who recently had started leaving her outside in a fenced yard and she jumped the fence to go in search of her dad! He finally decided that the best thing was to turn Lucie over to a rescue to find her a good, permanent home. This kind of decision is so hard, but definitely the best choice for Lucie! She is a very sweet and loving girl, very gentle and has the calmness of a lab. However, the shepherd is very much there in her need to look after her person and her property just like a shepherd would do. She meets and greets people easily while out and about, but with caution like a shepherd and gets along well with other dogs. Lucie is protective of the car, her crate and her home, so will need an experienced shepherd owner or someone willing to train her and help her understand that she only needs to guard when commanded to do so. We think that once Lucie is in a stable environment again she won't feel like the need to be so protective. She is housebroken, does well on a leash and knows some basic commands. She loves water and hiking and being outdoors!

Micky: Fox Terrier
1 year 10 months, Male

Good with dogs and older children. Cats unknown. House-trained. Crate trained.
HW-

Micky was dumped in someone’s front yard. When he was finally picked up and brought to a shelter, he was SO fearful. The overcrowded shelter had no time or resources to give to a dog like Micky and he was thus dubbed “unadoptable” - and scheduled for euthanasia. We saw him as a boy who needed a chance and so we took him into the Pixel family.

Micky’s perfect home will have at least one dog pal - it helps him have confidence and gives him comfort - plus, he likes to play with his foster’s dogs!

Next, Micky is a dog in progress - you’ll need to have a huge amount of patience and willingness to continue his training. And please don’t take it personally if he doesn’t trust you right away and jump into your lap for snuggles. He will eventually - in his foster home, Micky sits in his mom’s lap, snuggles, and lets her pat his belly. He is a pretty “regular dog” in her home, but he is very cautious in new situations and around new people. Via a professional trainer, Micky’s foster mom is working on building his confidence around people. Currently, Micky is more comfortable around women. He is very sweet with his humans once he trusts.

Micky walks well on a leash and is working on recall. He is okay in a fenced-in yard but at this point in time, off-leash is out of the question.

He will do best in a quiet environment without a lot of people coming and going. We know Micky isn’t for everyone, and not everyone is for Micky, but if you think the two of you just might be a good fit, please do apply!

Newt AKA Moonshine: Hound mix/Hound
4 years 1 month, Male

Handsome Moonshine is a hound mix - without the hound barking! Moon is at first cautious around new people and needs introductions. Once he trusts you, he turns into the most loving dog! His foster family has been helping himfeel easier around people and other dogs. They have dogs and Moon has started to relax around them - they enjoyed a good game of tug together just the other day. It may be hard on Moon to live with a dominant-type dog, but easy-going, respectful dogs would be okay for this shy guy.

He is house-trained and amazing on a leash. He loves having a job to do and going on walks - then he likes to get home and be the world’s biggest couch potato. And if you happen to offer a belly rub, oh this boy will be in heaven!

Moonshine is a work in progress and so worth it. He is a gem and deserves a family who can be patient with him and appreciate that perhaps some of his past experiences with people were not great. Because he will need time to blossom, a home without small children is best for our guy. This sweet boy will be loyal to you and love you hard. Moon has been working with a trainer and doing great - we recommend you continue with that. Moonshine is waiting for his forever home!

Willie Bear: Golden Retriever/Chow Chow
6 years 0 months, Male

Good with calm dogs, cats and respectful children. Housetrained.
HW-

This is the gorgeous Willie Bear, a chow/golden retriever mix! He is very friendly, although a little cautious at first. He has met several humans, ranging from age 6 through adult, with no issues other than a jump up here and there. Willie is very snuggly and wants to be with people. He does have spurts of being active but for the most part stays very mellow and does not even chase squirrels. Willie is getting along beautifully with his foster fur siblings, but did have some anxiety when exposed to very hyper dogs in the shelter, so we would prefer to place him with older, more mellow dogs. Like a typical golden, he does shed a lot, so his new family needs to be prepared for that! Willie is working in his leash manners with his foster mom and is making great progress! He is very sweet-natured and would make a great dog for almost any family! (We ask for no small unpredictable children.) He does cooperate with going into a large kennel when needed, but would definitely prefer to be in a home where he does not have to be kenneled!
